We collect information you provide directly, including name, email address, and billing information when you create an account or subscribe to Pro. We also collect usage data including calculator inputs, estimate history, and page interactions to improve our service.

Your information is used to provide and maintain our calculators, process subscriptions, send service updates, respond to support requests, and improve our tools based on usage patterns. We never sell your personal data.

3. Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies (optional) help us understand how contractors use our calculators. You can control cookie preferences in your browser settings.

4. Third-party services

We use Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, and Vercel for hosting. Each service has its own privacy policy governing data handling. We share only the minimum data necessary for these services to function.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, database encryption, and regular security audits. Billing data is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store full credit card numbers.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Estimate data is retained for 12 months after account deletion. Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by tax regulations. You can request early deletion of your data at any time.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, port, and delete your data. You can also restrict or object to processing. To exercise these rights, email us at support@framedcost.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of their data, and opt out of the sale of their data. FramedCost does not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact support@framedcost.com.

9. Children's privacy

FramedCost is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. International data transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a notice on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
